At Henry County Humane Society – Geneseo, our volunteers aren’t just helpers—they’re part of our big, noisy, loving, animal-obsessed family! When you volunteer with us, you become a vital part of the everyday care that keeps our animals healthy, safe, and ready for their forever homes.
Whether you’re scooping litter boxes, refreshing kennels, filling up food bowls, folding laundry, or giving out those all-important snuggles, you are making a real and immediate difference. Our animals rely on the kindness of people like you, and trust us… they know when someone is there just for them. Their purrs, tail wags, and happy dances are your daily “thank you.”
Volunteering is hands-on, sometimes messy, often hilarious, and always rewarding. You’ll meet new people, learn new skills, and become part of a place where everyone looks out for each other—two-legged and four-legged alike. Volunteer hours are from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm seven days a week
Junior Volunteers must be at least a freshman in high school to volunteer on their own, otherwise a parent is required to volunteer with their child. You must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer on your own with our dogs.
