We're a non-profit, no kill animal shelter in Geneseo, Illinois funded entirely by donation. We could not continue our work of providing quality care for animals while we help them find their forever homes without your support! 

Open 4-6 pm every day, seven days a week or by appointment by calling (309) 944-4868 or (309) 945-2085.

Please note, dogs are only available to view with an appointment.  We are extremely short staffed and don't have the staff available to show dogs without any appointment.

Bucket Filler - Volunteer Program
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30pm - 2:30/3pm

The Community Bucket Filler Enrichment Program is a hands-on volunteer opportunity designed to support the mental and emotional well-being of our shelter animals while building community connections.
Volunteers gather to create and prepare enrichment items for our dogs and cats, including puzzle feeders, Kongs, pupsicles, scratchers, and interactive toys. All supplies are provided by the shelter—participants simply bring their time and helping hands.
This program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30–2:30 PM and is open to community members of all ages. Children are welcome when accompanied by a caregiver, and a designated space is provided for this activity.
No long-term commitment is required. Volunteers may attend as often as their schedule allows. An online volunteer application is required prior to participation.
This program plays a vital role in reducing stress, preventing boredom, and improving overall quality of life for animals as they wait for their forever homes.

​Paws for a Dollar - Sunday Funday Donation Event
First Sunday of every month starting in 2026! 

Starting in 2026 we are asking all of our followers and supporters to donate just $1 on the first Sunday of every month! Whether you can give once, quarterly, or monthly. This small gift will have a HUGE impact. If just 10% of our followers can dedicated $1 a month to our shelter we will raise $1000 a month! These funds will provide food, shelter, enrichment, and much needed vet care for the animals in our care. Let's make 2026 our most successful year yet!
