Dogs and Puppies

Senior Dogs (8 and older) --$100
Dogs (1-7 years old)--$150.00
Puppies (under one year of age)--$200.00
​(plus $50.00 refundable spay/neuter voucher fee if unaltered)

Cats and Kittens

Senior Cats (8 and older) --$10
​Cats--$60.00
Unaltered Kittens--$75.00
(plus $50.00 refundable spay/neuter voucher fee)

Adoption fees include FIV/Leukemia testing for cats and Heartworm testing for dogs as well as all up to date vet work, spay/neuter, microchipping and any other needed treatments. All animal adoptions have a contract to cover areas of care, health, return policy, and responsibility. Any animal adopted that is too young to be spayed/neutered will receive a voucher to have the procedure done at our vet once it weighs at least four pounds (females) or six pounds (male). Henry County Humane Society - Geneseo does reserve the right to refuse any adoption that we determine not to be in the best interest of the animal.

Please be aware that the online adoption application may not come through if completed and sent in on a cellphone. 

 Note: We sometimes have technical difficulties and applications seem to not go through. You will be contacted by telephone (and sometimes e-mail-check your junk mail) by one of our adoption coordinators regarding your online application so if you don't hear from us, please feel free to reach out to see if we received your application. (Applications are not always reviewed on Sundays and Mondays.)  Please try to come out to the shelter within 48 hours of your approval call. 

VISITORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO MEET WITH THE KITTENS OR DOGS UNTIL THEY HAVE COMPLETED AN ADOPTION APPLICATION AND RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE SHELTER, NOTIFYING THEM THAT THEIR APPLICATION HAS BEEN APPROVED. 
Just like everyone else we are short staffed and need to schedule the meet and greets to ensure we have enough staff to not only handle the meet and greet but also provide the proper care to the other animals at the shelter.  This also allows us to limit exposure to young kittens and reduce opportunities for sickness.
