Adoption fees include FIV/Leukemia testing for cats and Heartworm testing for dogs as well as all up to date vet work, spay/neuter, microchipping and any other needed treatments. All animal adoptions have a contract to cover areas of care, health, return policy, and responsibility. Any animal adopted that is too young to be spayed/neutered will receive a voucher to have the procedure done at our vet once it weighs at least four pounds (females) or six pounds (male). Henry County Humane Society - Geneseo does reserve the right to refuse any adoption that we determine not to be in the best interest of the animal.
Click below to download our adoption application or fill out an application online. You will be contacted by telephone by shelter manager Tracy regarding your online application. (Applications are not reviewed on the weekend.) Please try to come out to the shelter within 48 hours of your approval call.
VISITORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO MEET WITH THE KITTENS UNTIL THEY HAVE COMPLETED AN ADOPTION APPLICATION AND RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM SHELTER MANAGER TRACY, NOTIFYING THEM THAT THEIR APPLICATION HAS BEEN APPROVED. We are limiting exposure to reduce opportunities for sickness.
Please be aware that the online adoption application may not come through if completed and sent in on a cellphone.
